Here's a render of my Ice shrine. It turned out ok, had some issues with the unwrap. For some reason the relax tool wouldn't work. This was also my first time using specular and normal maps. I found the normal maps don't really work that well without a clear photograph texture.
I also didn't realise that I hadn't put up my progress renders of my other work so prepare for a torrent of backlog.

Update
I have changed my 4th asset, before i was creating the towers for an asset in the 4th level of our game. However our 4th level have been ditched so i have designed a new asset that fits into the new level design. This is a shrine that will be interacted with to unlock an area. It is rock and ice. i will try and include the skull in the ice crystal if possible.
this is my progress so far. I think it is going well. I changed the design slightly to make the creation a little easier and to keep the polys low.

Update
These are my unwraps for my last semester work, the non organic one is crap, i did it when i sucked at unwrapping.I actually did the organic one at the same time but i re-unwrapped it to make less seems. It actually took me way longer than it should have because i messed up a section and couldn't go back far enough to fix it so i had to re-unwrap the head spike. Took a while. I decided not to fix the non organic one because it will likely be changed anyway.

Project work
Bit late putting this up but here it is. This is my firebox, untextured. Quite happy with how it turned out. took a little too long on the stone base, had to go in and reduce the polys. May tweak it a bit before texturing just to make it a little less new looking.

Work
Been a while since I posted anything, simply hasn't crossed my mind. Been very busy and very complacent at the same time. started work on the last project of the semester, doing an organic and in organic model, I'll put the designs up now, I don't like putting up unfinished work so that's all i'm doing. Plus its 2 in the morning and i can't be arsed.
The other image is apparently too big.
I am severely regretting these designs, i drew what i wanted and should have drawn something easy. I'm not a 3d modeller.

This took some time, had some problems with 3ds max, many problems in fact. Most of them i was able to fix but one just wouldn't leave me alone, i don't know if it was something i did or if the program just messed up but these four verts were just stuck, i couldn't move them, i could select things so it wasn't locked. Then i tried to rotate the whole thing and realised that the entire model was rotating around these 4 verts. I had no idea how to fix, nor did anyone else so i had to revert to an earlier save. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with it, kinda annoyed i couldn't get the head to work as a joined part of the model so i just made it separate.
